About the Faculty-In-Residence Program

The Faculty-in-Residence program is intentionally designed for faculty who enjoy being with students outside of the classroom and who are willing to contribute to students’ extracurricular learning opportunities. The program is a dynamic and interactive opportunity for faculty to educate students in the residence halls. Through on-going collaboration with Residential Life, the Faculty-in-Residence will have a unique opportunity to contribute to the growth of the Northwest Quadrangle housing community. In this learning and living environment, the Faculty-in-Residence will help Residential Life to bridge gaps between the academic, social, and developmental experiences of first-year students.

The role of the Faculty-in-Residence is to integrate learning in and out of the classroom, and to serve as a liaison between faculty and students. The Faculty-in-Residence will help to plan and implement educational, recreational, social and cultural programs for the residential community. Specific responsibilities of the Faculty-in-Residence include, but are not limited to, the following areas of functional responsibility:

  • program development
  • academic enrichment
  • community development.
