Faculty-in-Residence Photo ArchiveProgramming ArchivesThe Faculty-in-Residence Program strives to build upon its legacy of facilitating interaction between students and faculty in innovative and exciting ways. The Faculty-in-Residence collaborates with a variety of Residential Life staff members to stimulate learning, invite student engagement, and develop positive social experiences for resident students. Hall Directors, Community Assistants, the Graduate Assistant for Academic Programs, and other campus partners provide a wide array of unique mentorship opportunities for students. The Faculty-in-Residence lives in an on-campus apartment located in the Northwest Quadrangle. In Northwest Quadrangle, the Faculty-in-Residence dines with students, discusses current issues, and hosts a variety of pre-planned and spontaneous events. Programs are hosted during lunch, dinner, or late in the evening between 7:00 – 9:00 pm. Furthermore, most programs are conveniently located in residence hall lounges. Examples of past programs include debates, community service projects, learning skills sessions, time management workshops, study abroad presentations, current events discussions, bicycling trips, and more! Due to the presence of the Faculty-in-Residence in Northwest Quadrangle, the Faculty-in-Residence has a unique opportunity to interact with two learning communities. The Nursing learning community and the Leadership, Learning & Life @ UConn learning community are housed in the same housing area as the Faculty-in-Residence Program. The location of these two learning communities further supplements the quality of the Northwest housing experience. |
